yoZ!! had a tiring week... shall blog YLTC and my chalet here...

MONDAY
carried my bulky bag to school... on the bus so many ppl were like staring at me... small mouse carrying such a huge bag... lol... but anyway supposed to meet at 7.15 and start at 8 de... end up drag till bout 8.30... first checkpoint was toa payoh... when we reached there we still had to do a cheer for 2 mins b4 we get our taks... end up singing -- 'everybody sing a song, doo dah doo dah, everybody sing a song, all duh doo dah dae............' if u guys were wandering, our group name is "EVERYBODY" so ya... haha... when we got the questions it was quite a breeze since roman and a few of us knew that place well... completed them quickly... unfortunately there's a question that required us to go to the library de... so had to wait bout half an hour for it to open... so we proceeded to looking for our treasure hunt items, like that then won't waste time mah... haha... at 10, can see everyone queueing up to go into library... like got great singapore sales... -_-" but anyway completed the question then proceeded to our next checkpoint -- ang mo kio...
took 3 stations down to ang mo kio... then we were to cheer for 2 mins again... but this time in front of some hawkers la... no choice so we sang -- "everybody, yeah, rock ur body, yeah...." (backstreet boys song) the questions here was relatively easy too... completed the questions le then make our way to the next checkpoint -- haw par villa...
we took train all the way to harbour front... it was lunch time and all the groups have to take a compulsory 1 hr break... went to nearby hawker centre to eat... guess wat... b4 we get our lunch we have to entertain the lunch crowd for 2 mins again!! so no choice have to do both our cheers and then our school song - national dream... after our performances we wanted to go elsewhere to eat le... no face sia... lolx... anyway our group were given 60 bucks for our lunch... we all ordered chicken rice and sugarcane drink... chatted with our instructor - ROY and got to know him better... anyway after our lunch we took a bus down to har paw villa... when we reached there we got questions... there's like onli 3 questions but there's a task... the task, mine field, is about a person being blindfolded then have to be guided thru a path with water bottles and fill a cup over the other end... the catch is that the cup u r holding have many holes, and once u kick the water bottle u have to start all over again... first woon lin tried the task and we completed in bout ten minutes... throughout the task we all can't stop laughing... it was so funny that i ended rolling all over the floor... then kay how tried second time for a faster timing and he did it in 5 mins... we decided to try again and be the fastest time to get additional 10 points... so kay how tried again and did it in 4 mins!!! we were satisfied with that and decided to move on to our last checkpoint for the day -- Dairy farm adventure camp (DFAC)...
took like 3 buses for us to reach there... then the task was to spilt up into three groups for three activities -- rock climbing, abseiling, challenge pole... whoever catch the trapeze for the challenge pole and reach the top of the rock wall will earn the team additional 30 points... i joined the challenge pole group... none of us was able to grap it and hold it there... sad... and i also got a little scolding cuz i din give warning b4 i jumped... haiz... but anyway went on to try the other two activity... was not able to reach the top of the rock wall too... was quite sad la... :( but salihin did it and helped us get additional 30 points!!! hurray!!! well done... after that we all gathered and waited for the rest of the teams to arrive... mean time we learned many cheers and claps... it was so fun!! especially the trainers... they were so enthusiastic and kept all of us high... really enjoyed that session!! first time i see trainers this 'crazy'... haha... wat will happen if i were like them sia... lolx...
after dinner was the nite hike... not bad la... we were to be in group of threes and walk thru the forest without any torchlight... just nice mi, kay how, and louis as a group... so we walked thru till we reached a point in the middle of the route, where they will dispatch us one by one... it was quite nothing to mi as i was not really afraid of the dark or watsoever... so enjoyed the walk back to the meeting point... when we reached the campsite we had debrief and off we went to bed...
think reflections were very useful... the reflection for the day that our group had very little sense of urgency and did not have our route planned out properly... was quite true cuz during the whole race we were kinda like taking our time... then from haw par villa, our teacher, MS KOH, had realised that there is a straight bus back to DFAC... but we changed three times... thus time wastage... in addition we had very little interaction throughout the whole race... maybe because everyone was very tired... therefore everyone promised to work on these for the next day...
TUESDAY
woke up at about 6 plus... then had morning pt which we had to run into bukit timah reserve again... then did usual warm-up and 100 counts of jumping jacks la... then also some 100 push ups... then all headed back to DFAC to for breakfast and get ready for the second part of the race... first check point of the day was Raffles marina...
we had to compete with aaron's group... cuz the second group to reach have to wait till the first group finish first... so we took like 2 buses there... we reached boon lay interchange earlier than aaron's group... however we waited for bus 182 and end up both groups on the same bus... it was quite hilarious as we were planning how to block them and how to get there b4 the other group does... so we alighted 2 stops b4 raffles marina... then we broke into a run there... aaron's group did not alight and they sat on... little did thay knew that the bus do not stop at the next stop... so they had to take one whole loop onto tuas and then back here... this gave us the advantage to do our tasks first... BUT!!! we realised that our trainer did not alight!!! ms koh called him and he told us to continue on with the tasks and he will meet us later... so we got into our kayaks and did some capsize drill... then everyone quickly changed into dry clothings and continue on our journey... could tell that everyone now is making an effort to interact with one another, motivating one another... as well as keeping the sense of urgency... we were like running all the way... took a long bus ride back to the interchange and had our compulsory lunch break again... this time we all ate at macs... yummy!!! our next stop was -- far east square...
we took train all the way down to city hall and ran to far east square... all the questions were kinda regarding some history of that place so we had to run all around to look for those heritage boards... then had to count the number of lightbulbs at a fountain too... we rushed to get everything done then head on to our next checkpoint -- fort canning park...
we took a train down to dhouby ghaut and again ran all the way to the park... when we got the questions form our trainer, we realised that we were at the wrong side of fort canning!!! we were to count the number of steps of the flight of stairs at hill street of fort canning, which is like at the other end of the park... we were kinda running out of time so decided to answer the other questions and just anyhow put down a number for that counting task... we then ran all around searching for answers... we could not find anything so decided to the national archives board next to fort canning... the personnel there was very nice and helped us to find a book on fort canning... and we managed to find all our questions to it... then we realised that we had actually ran all the way to very near hill street le... then we decided to just quickly count the number of steps... it was quite interesting cuz the stairs was broken into groups of 16...
we were like 2 hrs b4 the time to reach DFAC... we were to decide whether to go to the bonus check point -- east coast park... which may cost us much time to travel back to DFAC from there... end up we decided to go for it and ran all the way to raffles shopping centre to take a train... could still rmb that everyone was running after a bus... then realised that we have to take the other direction de... lolx...anyway we took the bus till marine parade there... the bus driver told us to alight at marine parade food centre, but our destination was east coast food centre... realised that we had actually told the bus driver wrong location... thats y he ask us to alight at the location we told him... but anyway it was already quite late and we had to head back to DFAC... everyone was quite down le... reach DFAC at about 5.20... about 20 mins late... but nvm la... atleast we tried!!!
we quickly washed up and found a empty bunk where we start our rehearsal for the camp fire... we were having so much fun just directing our performance.... every soon we had our dinner and campfire started!!! i must say that this is the most fun campfire i had ever went... usually i find campfire the most borning de but this time it was damn fun and interesting!!! we got to see all the other groups perform and the trainers also teach us new cheers and games... i had enjoyed my self a lot!!!
then it was back to the relections again... this time all were positive ones!!! the best thing is that we had actually worked on all three things that our teacher and trainer had pointed out!!! i was also very glad that we were now more united and all of us knew one another better by the end of the second day!!! :)
WEDNESDAY
got woke up by the teachers at 4a.m!!! had to wash up and gather... we were to trek all the way up bukit timah hill!!! everyone were like not awake yet but treking one after another... it was quite fun initailly as it was first experience to mi... but as it goes on i got quite bored cuz evrything was still in darkness and cannot see anything... and i was damn sian diao when we had to pass thru an area where it was muddy... i was wearing my white trainers la... and it was black by the time i reached the top of bukit timah hill... sian... then we had to do 50 push ups and 50 sit ups... ms tammy ho was like saying this is to mark a significant event fot YLTC 2005 sia... lolx... after that we headed back la... by the time we reached the foot of bukit timah hill, it started rain heavily!!! all of us break into a run and chiong back... we ran for almost an hour before reaching DFAC... by the time we arrive there... we were all soaked to the skin... and guess wat!?!? my shoes were now white again!!! the mud was washed away by the rain!!! yeah!!!
then we changed into dry clothing and started packing up... then we had to wash and clean one of the bunks... there was like onli 1 hose and a few brooms... so rest of us just use our eye power la... lolx.. slack... :) anyway after that we boarded the bus and head to kallang sea sport centre for dragon boating...
the journey was kinda long and everyone slept throughout the journey... we were split into 6 groups and got into the kayaks... this is my second time doing dragon boating and i found it quite enjoyable... though was a tiring activity... we rowed to a shore at the other side and did the buoancy test again... it was so cold when the wind blew... i was holding on to crstal and xinming and they were saying that i was shivering... lolx... cannot help it la... haha... anyway then we had 2 races and both races our boat, turtle, won the race!!! lolx... dragon boating is not about how strong u r... but how well-coordinated the team is... well done guys!!!
we were then brought to the national stadium to bathe... the camp was coming to an end as we have our final debrief and prize presentation... although our group got overally 4th... all of us were still happy... it is the intangible stuff that is important anyway -- FRIENDSHIP!!! ~EVERYBODY~ rocks!!! we took some photos then we all headed home le...

THURSDAY
slept from 6 plus all the way to the next morn... woke up quickly packed bag for the class chalet... was late for my chem make up tutorial and so had to take cab to school... spent like 7 bucks to school sia... sian... then chem make up... din revise anything, then dun understand a single thing mr koh talking about... so end up dreaming and stoning la... haha...
then mi, kay how, xinming went coro for our lunch and then shared cab to downtown east... we played ps2 and mahjong in the chalet... in the evening we went to play bowling and we split into 3 groups to play... i started playing hooked balls and influnced the rest... lolx... but the last game we wanted to have a competition and my score was like 100 exactly... too long din touch bowling le la... haha... jun xiong best sia... lose mi like siao de... but 9 frame and 10 frame had a turkey la... in the and had like 130 plus o think... but he helped us beat the other group too!!! haha... we then went to food court for dinner... after that we went to the arcade to play a while la... haha... spent a little money there la... then went to play pool with xm and kh... then lag around in chalet... played truth and truth with the gals... haha... wat an interesting game to play... lolx... then went out for supper at bout 1 plus la... returned to chalet bout 3 plus then played asshole dai di till 5 a.m... i was kinda unlucky la... got to be the assholes so many times sia... haha...
FRIDAY
nothing much la... woke up le then check out soon after... all of us went home to put down our bags then meet again at 3 at cine to catch a movie... we watched 'Mr. & Mrs Smith'... very nice show... but was kinda tired cuz din sleep well the night b4... was trying hard to keep awake... but overally the fighting and stuff is exciting... pls go watch!!!
went to catch the western dance performance again... think they danced very very well!!! so proud of them sia... haha... NJ dance rawks la... after the dance class went to Fish & Co. to eat... i luv the food there... this time i shared the seafood platter with yong kia... paid bout 20 plus la... but think it was quite worth it since i like the food so much... haha...
SATURDAY
woke up at 12 plus... ate brunch and then meet yong kia at about 4 to study... lagf around la... anyway very late liao... spent close to 2 hrs on this entry... haha... i go gleep liao... nitex!!!
